Wedding:
Last year, my fiancé and I started planning our wedding and decided that we wanted to have a destination wedding up at my parent’s property in Old Station, CA. If you’re not familiar with Old Station, it’s about 45 minutes east of Redding , up on Mt. Lassen . We decided to have all of our guests come up for the entire weekend because we wanted to spend ample time with family and friends. Of course, asking people to travel long distances and spend money on accommodations during these tough economic times poses some challenges.

So, we decided to engage caterers that could handle providing the food for the entire weekend. We felt that it was the least we could do given the circumstances. Several of the caterers that I spoke with were either not willing to travel to Old Station, felt that they couldn’t provide food for 100 people for three days, or felt that they couldn’t meet our budget and maintain the level of elegance that we wanted to provide.

Then we spoke with Robin at Etched in Elegance. Not only was she willing to make the drive, but she worked very closely with us and our wedding planner to decide on menus for all of the meals. There were many considerations: what foods would travel well, what resources we had to store and prepare food up at the site, and what we could do ourselves to cut costs without spending the entire weekend working ourselves to death.

Robin was extremely flexible, timely in her communications with us, and made great suggestions on how to give our guests a weekend that they wouldn’t forget. Robin ended up preparing the rehearsal dinner and an array of beautiful deserts for my mother-in-law (for Friday night), brunch on Saturday, dinner for the wedding on Saturday, and assisted us with brunch on Sunday as well. Every single dish that she prepared was amazing, and she really listened to what we wanted to provide (some things were casual; other things had to be much more formal). Rave reviews came in from 100 very picky relatives and friends, and the amounts of food provided were perfect (just enough for leftovers and not so much that food was wasted).

Not only was the food amazing, but the service staff and bartender did a fantastic job. Everyone made it possible for us to really enjoy a weekend of fun, and our wedding was relaxing (not something most brides can say). We were able to do everything we wanted and we stayed within a reasonable budget.

Thank you Robin, Becky and Linda for making our event so phenomenal! We’ll be calling you for the next family reunion!

Corporate dinners:
I have been very pleased with Etched in Elegance catering. Robin is very helpful when planning a menu that will work for any event we are having.
Her meals and desserts, whether a last minute lunch or long planned , are always great. The price is reasonable and the food delivery is always on time. With so many other details to worry about it is nice not to have to worry about the catering.)

Wedding:
Our daughter's wedding was in November in a barn!  We had our doubts about a lot of things, including the ability of the caterer to come through with the"Rustic Elegance" that she wanted.  We stumbled across the name "Etched in Elegance" in our caterer search and set up the interview.  We had 4 interviews with different groups on that day, as we live out of the area and wanted to condense our time as much as possible.   Robin Lentz with Etched was our third interview.   Both my daughter's and myself, as well as a close friend of mine walked out of her shop hoping that her quote would be lower than the two we had interviewed.   She made us feel instantly comfortable and willing to do anything we asked.   It was Robins plan to make our event...OUR event, not her event!   With three weddings in the last two years,  I can't tell you how important that is!   I've went round and round with the caterers from the other two weddings, because they are either not flexible, or they have an opinion that didn't match ours.     We were so excited when her quote came in under the other companies, and then throughout the planning process, we changed things up on her here and there and she just took it in stride and worked  her tail off to provide our "extras" for little or no extra expense.   Our groom had won several "cook off's" himself, and was quite finicky about the type of beef, and the flavor not being overwhelmed with too much seasoning.   Etched came through magnificently!   Etched in Elegance did all of the decorating of our tables to our specifications with some last minute switches, thanks to the lousy coordinator, and it was amazingly beautiful.  She even noticed as the ceremony was about to start that some of the family didn't have their corsages on and rushed her crew out to make certain that grandparents and god parents had been pinned!
We had 200 plus people, squeezed into this little barn, in November, and the guests had nothing to say but fantastic things about the food, and the decor!   Robin even had her daughter do the wedding cake for a very reasonable price and it was fabulous too!   We were so impressed with the service and the quality of food that we gave a tip reflecting the price of the highest bid.  They earned every bit of it, and when you get a 16 oz cut of Prime Rib and all the trimmings following out of this world Hors de Orv's, that tastes better than anything you've ever had in ANY restaurant...served to you in a barn... you don't mind paying top dollar!   I have zero reservations about recommending Robin and Becky for any event that you are planning.  If they say they can do it...believe it, they will!
I can't say thank you enough for making our daughters day so special!
Very Sincerely,

Nita Wells
